Creating a Dance Community
Trilogy Ballroom Dance Studio Teaches Dance to Benefit the Mind, Body, and Soul
Dances like Ballroom, Latin, and Swing may conjure up images of professionals effortlessly twirling and gracefully fast-stepping on the dance floor, but at Trilogy Ballroom Dance Studio, these dance moves are for everyone. “Our mission is to provide the community with a fun and welcoming place to learn how to partnership dance.”
The dance studio works with all levels of dancers from beginners to competitive dancers, but the majority of their students have little to no dance experience. “They come into the studio to learn a few steps for a wedding or a cruise and soon find it is a lot of fun to participate in the group classes, social dances, and showcases.”
Studio owners Joel and Kimberly Callahan were inspired to open Trilogy Ballroom Dance Studio for numerous reasons, including their passion for dance, to create a dance community, and to promote the benefits of dance. “We believe dancing benefits the mind, body, and soul and allows you to connect personally, emotionally, and socially,” they shared. “In a world constantly stimulated by screens, technology, and social media, we pride ourselves in creating a space that allows our students to make real connections, through social dancing.”
“If you have a resolution to exercise more, meet new people, or learn a new skill, then dancing at Trilogy Ballroom can accomplish all those things at once!”
Joel and Kimberly also connect with the local community by participating in the Dancing with Our Stars fundraiser for the California Center for the Arts in Escondido, as well as donating to area schools. “We are constantly looking to work with other organizations and communities in San Diego.”
The studio offers private lessons, group classes, and practice sessions for individuals and couples. Students can learn techniques and new patterns in private lessons and attend group classes for repetition and practice with different partners. Practice sessions are designed to provide students a safe space to try their lead, follow skills with other students.
Trilogy Ballroom Dance Studio is a friendly and supportive community for beginners and competitive dancers alike. “If you have a resolution to exercise more, meet new people, or learn a new skill, then dancing at Trilogy Ballroom can accomplish all those things at once!”
