The 5th Annual Poway Emergency Survival Fair will be held Saturday, May 11 at Old Poway Park. Stop by between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. to meet the organizations keeping Poway safe and to learn more about how you can be prepared in case of emergency. The event will include free drawings for emergency preparedness items and a variety of interactive, educational booths. Poway Amateur Communications Team will conduct a simulated emergency radio exercise and will be available to explain the amateur radio network.

Participating organizations include the City of Poway’s Community Emergency Response Team and Safety Services Department, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Burn Institute, Trauma Intervention Program, Palomar Radio Club, SD Crime Prevention, Senior Volunteer Patrol/YANA, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, SDG&E, Red Cross, Animal Rescue Reserve, Poway Fire Safe Council, SD County District Attorney’s Victims Assistance Program and Fraud Division, and Be Ready emergency supplies.
