Two Poway schools are welcoming new principals for the upcoming school year. “Poway Unified School District is proud to have such talented, passionate, and inspirational educators joining our school district and leading our schools,” said James Jimenez, Associate Superintendent of Personnel Support Service.

Andrew Gergurich, the new principal at Painted Rock Elementary School, has previously served as principal at Angier Elementary School in the San Diego Unified School District; principal at Valencia Park Center for Academics, Drama, and Dance; and vice principal at Zamorano Fine Arts Academy. He was named Teacher of the Year during his tenure at Oak Park Elementary School. He has a Masters of Educational Leadership and B.A. from San Diego State University.

Crystal Brownlee, new to Meadowbrook Middle School, has previously been an assistant principal at Oceanside High School and El Camino High School, as well as being a former science teacher and AVID Trained Instructor. She has an M.A. in Secondary Education from University of Phoenix, a B.A. from University of South Carolina, and a Biology and Science Teaching Credential.
