Poway Unified School District’s Park Village Elementary School, Monterey Ridge Elementary School, and Willow Grove Elementary School were recently honored by the California Department of Education’s Distinguished Schools Program. This program replaces the California Gold Ribbon Schools Program after a three-year hiatus, and 287 schools were recognized statewide this year.

“I am extremely proud of the success of our schools in implementing their best and innovative practices for the benefit of our students,” said Poway Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Marian Kim-Phelps. “From STEM and literacy to the arts and Character Counts, it really is a team effort by staff, students, and our community to create the foundation for college and career readiness.”
