Poway Emergency Survival Fair

The nonprofit Poway Neighborhood Emergency Corps (PNEC) is proud to present its 4th Annual Poway Emergency Survival Fair on Saturday, May 12. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Old Poway Park.

The fair is an opportunity for local residents to connect with public and private organizations dedicated to community safety and preparedness. Booths cover a wide range of services and topics, from communication during complete power blackouts to developing your family’s unique survival plan. The event will include a number of free drawings for emergency preparedness supplies donated by participating organizations. Poway Amateur Communications Team (PACT) will conduct a simulated emergency radio exercise, and PACT volunteers will be on-hand to explain amateur radio.

PNEC is a grassroots organization working to complement the City of Poway’s Emergency Operations Plan. In addition to the annual fair, the group hosts regular educational seminars and workshops for community members. Learn more at www.powaynec.com.
