Poway seventh grader Natasha Mar recently performed at the California Association of Professional Music Teachers Annual Young Artists’ Competition. The competition recognizes intermediate and advanced music students. Natasha performed in a number of categories and won individual first-place medals for Solo Cellist and Cello Duet. She was also in the winning orchestra and ensemble groups.

Natasha has loved performing from a young age. She started piano at age three, and started playing the cello three years later. Her mom, Nikki, shared that Natasha also began dancing at age two – she currently enjoys ballet, jazz, and Flamenco, and has won a youth award for Latin ballroom dancing. Natasha has performed with the California Ballet, San Diego Junior Theatre, San Diego Youth Symphony, North County String Ensemble, Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra, and The Bishop’s School Choir.
