The Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (YPO) Summer Festival performances conclude on Sunday, July 16 at 4 p.m. at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church at 16275 Pomerado Rd. in Poway. This concert is the third of the new YPO Festival Orchestra series directed by Artistic Director and Conductor Alyze Dreiling. The orchestra will feature Beethoven’s Concerto for Piano and Orchestra in G Major, Op. 58, by prize-winning pianist Bryan Verhoye. It will also present the Mozart Sinfonia Concertante in E-flat Major, K. 364, by soloists Harold Reeves on violin and Paul Wang on viola. Finishing off the concert is the Beethoven Symphony No. 2.

Besides being a published composer and arranger, Verhoye is the accompanist for the San Diego Master Chorale, music associate/pianist at Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church, and adjunct professor of music at Grossmont College. Harold Reeves is a violin performance major studying with Mikhail Kopelman at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, while Wang has a master’s degree in viola performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and performs in several local chamber groups and orchestras.
