Poway Days

Spectators lined Poway Rd. for the 52nd Poway Days Parade, presented by the Rotary Club of Poway-Scripps. Nearly 90 entries from marching bands, cheerleaders, and floats to rodeo queens, local officials, and local businesses graced the streets. In tandem with this year’s theme “Literacy: Read, Lead, Succeed,” the parade’s grand marshals were library staff from several PUSD schools, including Pomerado, Garden Road, Midland, Painted Rock, and Valley Elementary Schools and Meadowbrook Middle School. In addition, there were three categories with winning entries selected by special judges: service (Elks Lodge), theme (Midland Elementary School), and band (Maranatha Christian Schools).
