PHS Band and 600+ 4th Graders Honor Dr. Elaine Cofrancesco
The crown jewel of the Poway Center for the Performing Arts Foundation Arts in Education Initiative – the Introduction to Instruments program – will hold an onstage presentation and concert hosted by Poway High School musicians for an audience of more than 600 local 4th graders. The Foundation will be honoring the partnership between the POW Foundation and Poway Unified School District. Dr. Elaine Cofrancesco, who serves on the POW Foundation Board of Directors, has been instrumental in the success of the program For more than ten years, the Foundation, under Dr. Cofrancesco’s leadership, has coordinated this series of assemblies designed to supplement the loss of the fourth grade music program.
The POW Foundation Arts in Education Initiative supporters make it possible for the POW Foundation to inspire their community’s children to take up an instrument, an endeavor that enhances their creative and intellectual lives.
The concert will take place on May 22, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on stage at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts. Visit www.powayarts.org for more information about the POW Foundation.
