Did Your Business Lose Money From Blackout?
Did your business lose money as the result of the Sept. 8 electricity blackout in San Diego?
Then get in line. SDG&E said it won’t cut any checks until state, federal and Industry inquiries make clear who’s at fault for the 12-hour power failure that affected 5 million people.
A posting on the SDG&E website said: “We will not be liable for damages for any failures to deliver gas or electric service to our customers due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.” Yet, an Arizona Public Service press release said the blackout began while an employee was doing some work on a key transmission line feeding power to San Diego.
Thus, the recourse for local businesses is to make a claim via the SDG&E website at www.sdge.com/customer/claims.shtml, or call 1-800-411-7343.
