“Bark at the Park – A Dog Day Celebration” is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, at the Poway Dog Park.

Benefitting the pediatric trauma care at Rady Children’s Hospital and the Kiwanis foundation’s high school scholarship program, the event will include several contests in which dogs can compete, more than 20 vendor booths, music and food.  Admission is free.  Contest judges will be Channel 10 News anchor Hal Clement and Channel 7/37 weatherman Whitney Southwick.

Sponsors of the event include the Kiwanis Club of Poway Foundation, the Poway News Chieftain, Animal Emergency Clinic of San Diego, Doggie Dental, Good Dog Training School, Nature’s Select and Miramar Kitchen and Bath.
